London Colney - Walk 1

Walking Image

Walk Summary

This route is a long and varied adventure that heads to the south of London Colney.

You have to cross a footbridge over the M25 towards the start of this walk, which is quite an experience in itself, and then after that you'll walk through some pro football training pitches.

Next, as the drone of the motorway fades, you'll then embark on a lovely long stretch of walking through some very pretty countryside, dotted with peacefully grazing horses and offering plenty in the way of lovely views.

Eventually you will descend down a grand hill with the most impressive view of all, and then pass through the De Havilland Aircraft Museum. You'll see some 'retro' old planes from the footpath as you walk past, but you can obviously also enter the museum for a closer look for a fee.

Finally, you'll head back towards London Colney on a public footpath running through the Watford FC Training Academy with it's impressive Dome. This is a public right of way through the academy, so please stick to the route marked on the map.
